कृते विवाहे द्रुपदो धनं ददौ; महारथेभ्यो बहुरूपम् उत्तमम् ॥
शतं रथानां वरहेमभूषिणां; चतुर्युजां हेमखलीनमालिनाम् ॥
शतं गजानाम् अभिपद्मिनां तथा; शतं गिरीणाम् इव हेमशृङ्गिणाम् ॥
तथैव दासीशतम् अग्र्ययौवनं; महार्हवेषाभरणाम्बरस्रजम् ॥
kṛte vivāhe drupado dhanaṃ dadau; mahārathebhyo bahurūpam uttamam ||
śataṃ rathānāṃ varahemabhūṣiṇāṃ; caturyujāṃ hemakhalīnamālinām ||
śataṃ gajānām abhipadmināṃ tathā; śataṃ girīṇām iva hemaśṛṅgiṇām ||
tathaiva dāsīśatam agryayauvanaṃ; mahārhaveṣābharaṇāmbarasrajam ||
"When the marriage was accomplished, Drupada gave those great chariot-warriors wealth, manifold and excellent: a hundred chariots adorned with gold, drawn by four horses, with golden reins; a hundred elephants marked with lotus signs, like a hundred mountains with golden peaks; and likewise a hundred maidservants in the bloom of youth, in precious garments, ornaments, robes, and garlands."

Here the father-in-law rewards his sons-in-law with royal generosity. Telling is the abundance of the gifts: Drupada does not stint, honoring the dignity of the Pandavas and the joy of the union. Generosity befits a happy occasion and honors kinship. Thus the verse shows Drupada's magnanimity; and the impoverished exiles regain a royal estate.
