अपकृष्टो महाबाहुर् नागराजस्य कन्यया ॥
अन्तर्जले महाराज उलूप्या कामयानया ॥
ददर्श पाण्डवस् तत्र पावकं सुसमाहितम् ॥
कौरव्यस्याथ नागस्य भवने परमार्चिते ॥

Even an unforeseen abduction does not interrupt the rite. It is telling that, drawn beneath the water, Arjuna at once finds a fire already prepared there: Providence furnishes the pious with the means to fulfill their duty even in extraordinary circumstances. Sincere piety is never left without support from above. Thus the scripture reveals a wondrous arrangement; and even in the palace of the nagas Arjuna will perform his rite.
