मन्दपालो ऽपि कौरव्य चिन्तयानः सुतांस् तदा ॥
उक्तवान् अप्य् अशीतांशुं नैव स स्म न तप्यते ॥

Here a father's love is not put to rest by a mere promise. It is telling that Mandapala, though he had secured Agni's word, still torments himself over his sons: a father's heart grows anxious even where reason is at ease. Here is the very nature of parental attachment. Thus the scripture reveals a father's anxiety; and it will drive him to seek out his sons.
