अस्ति बिन्दुसरस्य् एव गदा श्रेष्ठा कुरूद्वह ॥
निहिता यौवनाश्वेन राज्ञा हत्वा रणे रिपून् ॥
सुवर्णबिन्दुभिश् चित्रा गुर्वी भारसहा दृढा ॥
सा वै शतसहस्रस्य संमिता सर्वघातिनी ॥
अनुरूपा च भीमस्य गाण्डीवं भवतो यथा ॥
asti bindusarasy eva gadā śreṣṭhā kurūdvaha ||
nihitā yauvanāśvena rājñā hatvā raṇe ripūn ||
suvarṇabindubhiś citrā gurvī bhārasahā dṛḍhā ||
sā vai śatasahasrasya saṃmitā sarvaghātinī ||
anurūpā ca bhīmasya gāṇḍīvaṃ bhavato yathā ||
"There is by Bindusaras a mace supreme, O bulwark of the Kurus, left there by King Yauvanashva when he slew his enemies in battle — dappled with points of gold, heavy, sturdy, able to bear any weight. It is equal in strength to a hundred thousand warriors, all-destroying, and befits Bhima as the Gandiva befits you."

Here the heroes' weapons are the legacy of righteous kings of old, won in the defense of dharma. It is telling that the mace "befits" Bhima specifically: a gift is entrusted according to the worth and nature of the one receiving it, as the Gandiva befits Arjuna. Thus it is shown that power from above is given not to just anyone, but to one who will carry it for the good. Thus scripture shows the destiny of the mace; and [next] the conch.
