ततः क्रुद्धस् त्रिभिर् बाणैर् भीमसेनं हसन्न् इव ॥
अभिहत्य दृढं युद्धे तान् सर्वान् प्रत्यविध्यत ॥
त्रिभिस् त्रिभिर् महेष्वासो यतमानान् महारथान् ॥
ते ऽपि तं प्रत्यविध्यन्त सप्तभिः सप्तभिः शरैः ॥
शिखण्डिनस् ततः क्रुद्धः क्षुरप्रेण महारथः ॥
धनुश् चिच्छेद समरे प्रहसन्न् इव भारत ॥

abhihatya dṛḍhaṃ yuddhe tān sarvān pratyavidhyata ||
tribhis tribhir maheṣvāso yatamānān mahārathān ||
te 'pi taṃ pratyavidhyanta saptabhiḥ saptabhiḥ śaraiḥ ||
śikhaṇḍinas tataḥ kruddhaḥ kṣurapreṇa mahārathaḥ ||
dhanuś ciccheda samare prahasann iva bhārata ||

Traducción

Then, enraged, with three arrows, as if laughing, having struck Bhimasena hard in battle, [Kritavarman] pierced them all in return -- with three each, the great archer, [those] striving great warriors. They too pierced him in return with seven arrows each. Then the great warrior [Kritavarman], enraged, cut Shikhandin's bow in battle with a razor-tipped [arrow], as if laughing, O Bharata.
