Durmukha struck him with ten arrows, and Duhshasana with eight; and Chitrasena pierced the son of Shini with two, O venerable one. And Duryodhana, with a great shower of arrows, pressed Madhava hard in the battle, O king, along with other heroes, great warriors.

The sons of Dhritarashtra — Durmukha, Duhshasana, Chitrasena, Duryodhana — all fall on one man at once: the brothers who set injustice in motion stand united in it. It is telling that their unity lies not in truth but in shared enmity. The verse teaches that even an unjust cause binds men together: those joined by common wrongdoing hold fast to one another, yet a unity born of hostility is no good thing — it only multiplies the strength of a delusion driving all of them toward one ruin.
