Here stands one of the most quoted expressions of the whole Vaiṣṇava tradition: sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha — "whose form is being, consciousness and bliss". The word vigraha means precisely the body, the shape; it is said, then, that His body is woven not of matter but of being, consciousness and bliss.
Baladeva Vidyābhūṣaṇa cites this line in the Govinda-bhāṣya several times — in showing that the Highest has a form and that this form is Himself. With it too the first verse of the Brahma-saṁhitā begins, where Kṛṣṇa is called "sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha".
Beside it, the place: "seated beneath the celestial tree in Vṛndāvana". Not a throne, not the cosmic waters, but a tree in a wood. The joining of "the one Govinda whose form is sac-cid-ānanda" with "sits beneath a tree" is the whole peculiarity of this book.
And finally the speaker names himself: "I, together with the host of Maruts". Brahmā praises Him not alone but with the Marut-winds; the praise is offered in company.
The verb toṣayāmi — "I gladden, I delight" — stands in the present tense: not "I praised once" but I do it constantly. Twelve verses of that praise now follow.
