ततस् तु भीमो ऽद्भुतवीर्यकर्मा; महाबलो वज्रसमानवीर्यः ॥
उत्पाट्य दोर्भ्यां द्रुमम् एकवीरो; निष्पत्रयाम् आस यथा गजेन्द्रः ॥
तं वृक्षम् आदाय रिपुप्रमाथी; दण्डीव दण्डं पितृराज उग्रम् ॥
तस्थौ समीपे पुरुषर्षभस्य; पार्थस्य पार्थः पृथुदीर्घबाहुः ॥

उत्पाट्य दोर्भ्यां द्रुमम् एकवीरः निष्पत्रयाम् आस यथा गजेन्द्रःutpāṭya dorbhyāṃ drumam ekavīraḥ niṣpatrayām āsa yathā gajendraḥhaving wrenched out a tree with his arms, the sole hero, stripped it of leaves, like a great elephant;
तं वृक्षम् आदाय रिपुप्रमाथी दण्डी इव दण्डं पितृराज उग्रम्taṃ vṛkṣam ādāya ripupramāthī daṇḍī iva daṇḍaṃ pitṛrāja ugramtaking that tree, the destroyer of foes, like the staff-bearer Yama [holding] his terrible staff,
तस्थौ समीपे पुरुषर्षभस्य पार्थस्य पार्थः पृथुदीर्घबाहुःtasthau samīpe puruṣarṣabhasya pārthasya pārthaḥ pṛthudīrghabāhuḥstood beside the bull-among-men, the son of Pritha [Arjuna], [that] Partha [Bhima], broad and long-armed;

अनुवाद

Then Bhima, wondrous in valor and deeds, mighty, of might equal to the vajra, wrenching out a tree with his arms alone -- a hero without peer -- stripped it of its leaves like a great elephant. Taking that tree, the destroyer of foes, like Yama the staff-bearer wielding his terrible staff, that broad and long-armed Bhima, the other Partha, stood beside the bull among men, the son of Pritha.
