ततः स राजा द्रुपदः प्रहृष्टः; पुरोहितं प्रेषयां तत्र चक्रे ॥
विद्याम युष्मान् इति भाषमाणो; महात्मनः पाण्डुसुताः स्थ कच्चित् ॥

Here the father's hope seeks confirmation through a worthy messenger. It is significant that Drupada sends not a spy but a priest: so weighty a matter is entrusted to a holy man, not to an informant. Truth about the noble deserves to be approached with dignity. Thus the scripture shows the king's prudence; and the priest goes forth to ascertain whether the hoped-for has come to pass.
