एवं ब्रुवत्य् एव युधिष्ठिरे तु; पाञ्चालराजस्य समीपतो ऽन्यः ॥
तत्राजगामाशु नरो द्वितीयो; निवेदयिष्यन्न् इह सिद्धम् अन्नम् ॥

Here an invitation to the meal interrupts the conversation and carries the story forward. It is significant that Drupada, without waiting for an answer, already summons his presumed sons-in-law to the table: hospitality outruns confirmation. Here is a father's impatient warmth, ready to welcome the Pandavas before he is certain. Thus the scripture shows how hospitality hastens events; and the call to the meal leads to the next step of recognition.
