देवनागरी
दक्षिणे तां करे सुभ्रूं सुन्दो जग्राह पाणिना ॥
उपसुन्दो ऽपि जग्राह वामे पाणौ तिलोत्तमाम् ॥
वरप्रदानमत्तौ ताव् औरसेन बलेन च ॥
धनरत्नमदाभ्यां च सुरापानमदेन च ॥

Here all the intoxications that clouded them are enumerated. It is significant that the intoxications are piled one upon another -- boon, strength, wealth, wine: pride of many kinds together blinds completely. Herein lies a lesson: intoxication with success and strength is more dangerous than the intoxication of wine. Thus the scripture shows the sum of their blindness; and each, having seized her hand, will not yield -- and from this the quarrel will break out.
