तौ गदाभिहतौ भीमौ पेततुर् धरणीतले ॥
रुधिरेणावलिप्ताङ्गौ द्वाव् इवार्कौ नभश्च्युतौ ॥
ततस् ता विद्रुता नार्यः स च दैत्यगणस् तदा ॥
पातालम् अगमत् सर्वो विषादभयकम्पितः ॥

Here two "suns" of evil are extinguished within a single hour. It is significant that they are likened to fallen luminaries: great in evil, and even in falling great, but their fall is the end of their dominion. Herein lies a lesson: the triumph of lawlessness is brief -- what was raised upon blood collapses in blood. Thus the scripture shows judgment upon the asuras; and what Providence had ordained was accomplished by their own hands.
