राजा प्रभंकरो नाम कुले अस्मिन् बभूव ह ॥
अपुत्रः प्रसवेनार्थी तपस् तेपे स उत्तमम् ॥
उग्रेण तपसा तेन प्रणिपातेन शंकरः ॥
ईश्वरस् तोषितस् तेन महादेव उमापतिः ॥
स तस्मै भगवान् प्रादाद् एकैकं प्रसवं कुले ॥
एकैकः प्रसवस् तस्माद् भवत्य् अस्मिन् कुले सदा ॥

rājā prabhaṃkaro nāma kule asmin babhūva ha ||
aputraḥ prasavenārthī tapas tepe sa uttamam ||

sa tasmai bhagavān prādād ekaikaṃ prasavaṃ kule ||

उग्रेण तपसा तेन प्रणिपातेन शंकरःugreṇa tapasā tena praṇipātena śaṃkaraḥby that fierce austerity and humble prostration, Shankara,
ईश्वरः तोषितः तेन महादेवः उमापतिःīśvaraḥ toṣitaḥ tena mahādevaḥ umāpatiḥthe Lord, was gratified by him -- Mahadeva, the husband of Uma;

अनुवाद

Chitravahana said: "A king named Prabhankara was in this line; childless, desiring offspring, he performed the highest austerity; by that fierce austerity and humble prostration, Shankara, the Lord, was gratified by him -- Mahadeva, the husband of Uma; that lord granted him one offspring in each generation of the lineage; hence there is always but one offspring in this line."
