एतच् छुल्कं भवत्व् अस्याः कुलकृज् जायताम् इह ॥
एतेन समयेनेमां प्रतिगृह्णीष्व पाण्डव ॥

Here the marriage is sealed by a clear condition. It is significant that instead of wealth the king asks, as "price," for a son who will remain to continue his line: an honest condition, openly stated, safeguards the dharma of both sides. A pact made plainly and truthfully is good. Thus scripture shows the condition of the union; and accepting it will bind Arjuna by his word.
