Here the cry of the dying shakes the waters and the earth. It is significant that even distant fish tremble at the cry: the suffering is so great that it echoes through all creation. Here is the sorrowful truth of samsara, where the destruction of some resounds as terror in others. Scripture does not conceal this grief; and the compassionate should remember those who suffer and seek the end of suffering in the Lord.
