प्रायशः राज-लोकः तेprāyaśaḥ rāja-lokaḥ teFor the most part, the world of kings, by you
कथितः वदताम् वरkathitaḥ vadatām varahas been told, O best of speakers,
वैवस्वत-सभायाम् तुvaivasvata-sabhāyām tu[as dwelling] in the hall of Vaivasvata,
यथा वदसि वै प्रभोyathā vadasi vai prabhoas you say, O lord;
वरुणस्य सभायाम् तुvaruṇasya sabhāyām tuand in the hall of Varuna
नागाः ते कथिताः विभोnāgāḥ te kathitāḥ vibhothe nagas have been told by you, O lord,

Here Yudhishthira attentively repeats what he has heard before asking about his puzzlement. It is telling that a good listener first absorbs what has been said and only then inquires: attention is the foundation of an intelligent question. Thus the scripture reveals a model of diligent discipleship; and next the king poses his question.
