सः विजित्य महीम् सर्वाम्saḥ vijitya mahīm sarvāmHe, having conquered the whole earth,
स-शैल-वन-काननाम्sa-śaila-vana-kānanāmwith its mountains, forests and groves,
आजहार महा-राजājahāra mahā-rājaperformed, O great king,
राजसूयम् महा-क्रतुम्rājasūyam mahā-kratumthe Rajasuya, the great sacrifice;
तस्य सर्वे मही-पालाःtasya sarve mahī-pālāḥfor him all kings
धनानि आजह्रुः आज्ञयाdhanāni ājahruḥ ājñayābrought riches by his command,

Here the conquered kings themselves become servants of the brahmanas at the sacrifice. It is telling that power turns to the service of the sacred, and generosity exceeds what was promised fivefold: true greatness lies not in taking but in giving beyond what is due. Thus the scripture reveals generosity as the crown of victory; and next comes the feeding of the brahmanas.
