ते तद् आम्रं द्विधा कृत्वा भक्षयाम् आसतुः शुभे ॥
भावित्वाद् अपि चार्थस्य सत्यवाक्यात् तथा मुनेः ॥
तयोः समभवद् गर्भः फलप्राशनसंभवः ॥
ते च दृष्ट्वा नरपतिः परां मुदम् अवाप ह ॥

सत्य-वाक्यात् तथा मुनेःsatya-vākyāt tathā muneḥand by the sage's truthful word,

Here two powers converge — destiny and the truthful word of a holy man. It is significant that the result comes about 'by predetermination and by the sage's word': grace works both through what is foreordained and through the truth spoken by an ascetic's lips. The verse shows that a holy man's word is fulfilled without fail; and next comes the extraordinary birth.
