सा कृत्वा मानुषं रूपम् उवाच मनुजाधिपम् ॥
बृहद्रथ सुतस् ते ऽयं मद्दत्तः प्रतिगृह्यताम् ॥
तव पत्नीद्वये जातो द्विजातिवरशासनात् ॥
धात्रीजनपरित्यक्तो मयायं परिरक्षितः ॥

अनुवाद
"She, having assumed a human form, said to the lord of men: 'O Brihadratha, this is your son, given by me — let him be accepted; born in your two wives by the command of the best of the twice-born, abandoned by the nurses, he was preserved by me.'"

Here the one who was feared becomes the savior of the rejected child. It is significant that providence hands the child back through the very same rakshasi: what people cast away, God restored through an unexpected hand. The verse shows the inscrutability of the ways of preservation; and next, the parents receive their son.
