दुर्मुखस्य तु भल्लेन छित्त्वा केतुं महाबलः ॥
जघान चतुरो वाहांश् चतुर्भिर् निशितैः शरैः ॥
अथापरेण भल्लेन पीतेन निशितेन च ॥
चिच्छेद सारथेः कायाच् छिरो ज्वलितकुण्डलम् ॥
क्षुरप्रेण च तीक्ष्णेन कौरव्यस्य महद् धनुः ॥
सहदेवो रणे छित्त्वा तं च विव्याध पञ्चभिः ॥

durmukhasya tu bhallena chittvā ketuṃ mahābalaḥ ||
jaghāna caturo vāhāṃś caturbhir niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||
athāpareṇa bhallena pītena niśitena ca ||
ciccheda sāratheḥ kāyāc chiro jvalitakuṇḍalam ||
kṣurapreṇa ca tīkṣṇena kauravyasya mahad dhanuḥ ||
sahadevo raṇe chittvā taṃ ca vivyādha pañcabhiḥ ||

चतुर्भिः निशितैः शरैःcaturbhiḥ niśitaiḥ śaraiḥwith four sharp arrows; with four sharpened arrows
अथ अपरेण भल्लेनatha apareṇa bhallenathen with another broad-headed [arrow]; then with another bhalla
पीतेन निशितेन चpītena niśitena cayellow and sharpened; yellow and sharpened
चिच्छेद सारथेः कायात्ciccheda sāratheḥ kāyātswept from the charioteer's body; carried off from the charioteer's body
शिरः ज्वलितकुण्डलम्śiraḥ jvalitakuṇḍalamthe head with blazing earrings; the head with flaming earrings
क्षुरप्रेण च तीक्ष्णेनkṣurapreṇa ca tīkṣṇenaand with a sharp razor-headed [arrow]; and with a sharp razor-shaft

अनुवाद

The mighty Sahadeva, with a broad-headed arrow, cut Durmukha's banner and slew his four horses with four sharp arrows; then with another yellow, sharpened, broad-headed arrow he swept from the charioteer's body the head with its blazing earrings; and having cut, in battle, the great bow of the Kauravya with a sharp razor-headed arrow, he pierced him with five more.
