पश्य पाण्डवमुख्येन यातां भूमिं किरीटिना ॥
पत्त्यश्वरथनागौघैः पतितैर् विषमीकृताम् ॥
अभ्याशस्थम् अहं मन्ये श्वेताश्वं कृष्णसारथिम् ॥
स एष श्रूयते शब्दो गाण्डीवस्यामितौजसः ॥
यादृशानि निमित्तानि मम प्रादुर्भवन्ति वै ॥
अनस्तंगत आदित्ये हन्ता सैन्धवम् अर्जुनः ॥

paśya pāṇḍavamukhyena yātāṃ bhūmiṃ kirīṭinā ||
pattyaśvarathanāgaughaiḥ patitair viṣamīkṛtām ||
abhyāśastham ahaṃ manye śvetāśvaṃ kṛṣṇasārathim ||
sa eṣa śrūyate śabdo gāṇḍīvasyāmitaujasaḥ ||
yādṛśāni nimittāni mama prādurbhavanti vai ||
anastaṃgata āditye hantā saindhavam arjunaḥ ||

शब्दशः अर्थ

पश्य पाण्डवमुख्येनpaśya pāṇḍavamukhyenabehold, by the foremost of the Pandavas; behold, by [him who is] the foremost of the Pandavas
याताम् भूमिम् किरीटिनाyātām bhūmim kirīṭināthe ground traversed, by the Diademed one; the ground traversed, by the Diademed one [Arjuna]
पत्त्यश्वरथनागौघैःpattyaśvarathanāgaughaiḥwith streams of foot, horse, chariots, elephants; with streams of foot, horses, chariots, elephants
पतितैः विषमीकृताम्patitaiḥ viṣamīkṛtāmmade uneven [by] the fallen; made uneven [by the bodies of] the fallen
अभ्याशस्थम् अहम् मन्येabhyāśastham aham manyenearby standing I deem; close at hand I think
श्वेताश्वम् कृष्णसारथिम्śvetāśvam kṛṣṇasārathimthe White-Horsed one, [with] Krishna as charioteer; the White-Horsed one, with Krishna for charioteer
सः एषः श्रूयते शब्दःsaḥ eṣaḥ śrūyate śabdaḥthat very sound is heard; there, that sound is heard
गाण्डीवस्य अमितौजसःgāṇḍīvasya amitaujasaḥof the Gandiva of measureless might; of the Gandiva of boundless might
यादृशानि निमित्तानिyādṛśāni nimittāniwhatever omens; such as the signs
मम प्रादुर्भवन्ति वैmama prādurbhavanti vaiappear [to] me indeed; arise for me indeed
अनस्तंगते आदित्येanastaṃgate āditye[before] the sun has set; while the sun has not yet set
हन्ता सैन्धवम् अर्जुनःhantā saindhavam arjunaḥArjuna will slay the Sindhu king; Arjuna will slay the Sindhu king
अनुवाद

"Behold the ground traversed by the foremost of the Pandavas, the Diademed one, made uneven by the streams of the fallen -- foot, horses, chariots, elephants. I deem the White-Horsed one, with Krishna as charioteer, nearby; there, that sound of the Gandiva of measureless might is heard. By the omens that appear to me, [before] the sun sets, Arjuna will slay the Sindhu king."
