स तान् विद्राव्य कौन्तेयः संख्ये ऽमित्रान् दुरासदः ॥
सुपर्ण इव वेगेन पक्षिराड् अत्यगाच् चमूम् ॥
तथा तं विप्रकुर्वाणं रथयूथपयूथपम् ॥
भारद्वाजो महाराज भीमसेनं समभ्ययात् ॥
द्रोणस् तु समरे भीमं वारयित्वा शरोर्मिभिः ॥
अकरोत् सहसा नादं पाण्डूनां भयम् आदधत् ॥
तद् युद्धम् आसीत् सुमहद् घोरं देवासुरोपमम् ॥
द्रोणस्य च महाराज भीमस्य च महात्मनः ॥
sa tān vidrāvya kaunteyaḥ saṃkhye 'mitrān durāsadaḥ ||
suparṇa iva vegena pakṣirāḍ atyagāc camūm ||
tathā taṃ viprakurvāṇaṃ rathayūthapayūthapam ||
bhāradvājo mahārāja bhīmasenaṃ samabhyayāt ||
droṇas tu samare bhīmaṃ vārayitvā śarormibhiḥ ||
akarot sahasā nādaṃ pāṇḍūnāṃ bhayam ādadhat ||
tad yuddham āsīt sumahad ghoraṃ devāsuropamam ||
droṇasya ca mahārāja bhīmasya ca mahātmanaḥ ||
He, having put them to flight, the son of Kunti, hard to withstand, in the enemy's battle, like Suparna [Garuda] in his swiftness, the king of birds, passed through the host. Thus, as he threw it into confusion, the foremost among leaders of chariot-warriors, the son of Bharadvaja, O great king, advanced upon Bhimasena. Drona, in battle, having held Bhima back with waves of arrows, suddenly let out a roar, striking fear into the sons of Pandu.

Bhima passes through the host "suparṇa iva… pakṣirāṭ," like Garuda, king of birds: once set in motion, he cannot be checked. Yet Drona again stands in his path — the stream of trials does not run dry. It is telling that behind every breakthrough rises a new obstacle. The verse teaches that the path to a lofty goal is unbroken overcoming: one who has passed one barrier meets the next, and the one who walks it is called not to despair but to gather his spirit again and again.
