तांश् च विद्ध्वा पुनर् वीरान् वीरः सुनिशितैः शरैः ॥
राधेयस्याच्छिनद् भल्लैः कार्मुकं चित्रयोधिनः ॥
न तु तन् ममृषे कर्णो धनुषश् छेदनं तथा ॥
निकर्तनम् इवात्युग्रो लाङ्गूलस्य यथा हरिः ॥
सो ऽन्यद् धनुः समादाय क्रोधरक्तेक्षणः श्वसन् ॥
अभ्यवर्षच् छरौघैस् तं धृष्टद्युम्नं महाबलम् ॥
दृष्ट्वा तु कर्णं संरब्धं ते वीराः षड् रथर्षभाः ॥
पाञ्चाल्यपुत्रं त्वरिताः परिवव्रुर् जिघांसया ॥

so 'nyad dhanuḥ samādāya krodharaktekṣaṇaḥ śvasan ||
abhyavarṣac charaughais taṃ dhṛṣṭadyumnaṃ mahābalam ||
dṛṣṭvā tu karṇaṃ saṃrabdhaṃ te vīrāḥ ṣaḍ ratharṣabhāḥ ||
pāñcālyaputraṃ tvaritāḥ parivavrur jighāṃsayā ||

अनुवाद

And having pierced those heroes again with very sharp arrows, the hero cut, with broad-headed shafts, the bow of Radheya [Karna], that wondrous fighter. But Karna did not endure such a cutting of his bow, as a most fierce lion does not endure the maiming of its tail. He, taking up another bow, eyes red with rage, breathing heavily, showered mighty Dhrishtadyumna with streams of arrows. But seeing Karna furious, those six heroes, bulls among chariot-warriors, swiftly surrounded the Panchala's son, eager to slay him.
