Санджая
तम् उलूकस् तथा विद्ध्वा वासुदेवम् अताडयत् ॥
ननाद च महानादं पूरयन् वसुधातलम् ॥
अर्जुनस् तु द्रुतं गत्वा शकुनेर् धनुर् आच्छिनत् ॥
निन्ये च चतुरो वाहान् यमस्य सदनं प्रति ॥
ततो रथाद् अवप्लुत्य सौबलो भरतर्षभ ॥
उलूकस्य रथं तूर्णम् आरुरोह विशां पते ॥
ताव् एकरथम् आरूढौ पितापुत्रौ महारथौ ॥
पार्थं सिषिचतुर् बाणैर् गिरिं मेघाव् इवोत्थितौ ॥
tam ulūkas tathā viddhvā vāsudevam atāḍayat ||
nanāda ca mahānādaṃ pūrayan vasudhātalam ||
arjunas tu drutaṃ gatvā śakuner dhanur ācchinat ||
ninye ca caturo vāhān yamasya sadanaṃ prati ||
tato rathād avaplutya saubalo bharatarṣabha ||
ulūkasya rathaṃ tūrṇam āruroha viśāṃ pate ||
tāv ekaratham ārūḍhau pitāputrau mahārathau ||
pārthaṃ siṣicatur bāṇair giriṃ meghāv ivotthitau ||
He, having again pierced Shakuni with five smooth-jointed arrows, struck Uluka with three -- with three iron arrows. Him, Uluka, having thus pierced, struck Vasudeva and roared a great roar, filling the surface of the earth. And Arjuna, having swiftly advanced, severed the bow of Shakuni and sent his four horses to the abode of Yama. Then, having leapt down from the chariot, Saubala, O bull among the Bharatas, swiftly mounted onto the chariot of Uluka, O lord of peoples.

Father and son -- Shakuni and Uluka -- ride upon a single chariot: even the instigator of the feud is not alone; he has a son fighting beside him. It is significant that even the wicked are surrounded by kinship's love. The verse teaches that the bonds of blood live on even in the unrighteous; the one we judge for treachery is still a father, with a son at his side in battle. War makes no distinction between the righteous and the guilty -- it destroys both alike, together with the bonds that unite them.
