सुन्दोपसुन्दाव् असुरौ कस्य पुत्रौ महामुने ॥
उत्पन्नश् च कथं भेदः कथं चान्योन्यम् अघ्नताम् ॥
अप्सरा देवकन्या वा कस्य चैषा तिलोत्तमा ॥
यस्याः कामेन संमत्तौ जघ्नतुस् तौ परस्परम् ॥
एतत् सर्वं यथावृत्तं विस्तरेण तपोधन ॥
श्रोतुम् इच्छामहे विप्र परं कौतूहलं हि नः ॥

Yudhishthira said: "The asuras Sunda and Upasunda -- whose sons are they, O great sage? And how did the discord arise, and how did they kill each other? Is that Tilottama an apsara or a daughter of the gods, and whose is she, out of passion for whom, gone mad, they killed each other? All this, just as it happened, in detail, O rich in austerity, we wish to hear, O brahmin, for our curiosity is great."
