निरुद्योगौ तदा भूत्वा विजह्राते ऽमराव् इव ॥
स्त्रीभिर् माल्यैश् च गन्धैश् च भक्षैर् भोज्यैश् च पुष्कलैः ॥
पानैश् च विविधैर् हृद्यैः परां प्रीतिम् अवापतुः ॥

Here idleness and indulgence soften formidable strength. It is significant that, having no enemies, the brothers give themselves over to drinking and delights: idleness turns might into dissipation. Here it is revealed that sensual indulgence relaxes the spirit and dulls the mind. Thus the scripture shows the softening of the asuras; and in this softening, passion will find easy entrance.
