रोरूयमाणस्याभ्याशे तस्य विप्रस्य पाण्डवः ॥
तानि वाक्यानि शुश्राव कुन्तीपुत्रो धनंजयः ॥
श्रुत्वा चैव महाबाहुर् मा भैर् इत्य् आह तं द्विजम् ॥
आयुधानि च यत्रासन् पाण्डवानां महात्मनाम् ॥
कृष्णया सह तत्रासीद् धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिरः ॥
rorūyamāṇasyābhyāśe tasya viprasya pāṇḍavaḥ ||
tāni vākyāni śuśrāva kuntīputro dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
śrutvā caiva mahābāhur mā bhair ity āha taṃ dvijam ||
āyudhāni ca yatrāsan pāṇḍavānāṃ mahātmanām ||
kṛṣṇayā saha tatrāsīd dharmarājo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
"Near that crying brahmin, the Pandava, the son of Kunti, Dhananjaya, heard those words; and having heard, the mighty-armed one said to that brahmin: 'Do not fear!'; and where the weapons of the great-souled Pandavas were, there, with Krishna, was the Dharma King Yudhishthira."

Here duty and vow collide within a single hour. It is telling that Arjuna hastens to reassure him with "do not fear," yet the weapons rest where the eldest sits with Draupadi: the fulfillment of duty demands the breaking of a vow. Here two dharmas clash, testing the righteous man. Thus scripture shows the knot of the trial being tied; and in this very contradiction Arjuna's faithfulness to the higher will be revealed.
