द्रौपदीं सान्त्वयित्वा च आमन्त्र्य च जनार्दनः ॥
भ्रातॄन् अभ्यगमद् धीमान् पार्थेन सहितो बली ॥
भ्रातृभिः पञ्चभिः कृष्णो वृतः शक्र इवामरैः ॥

Here the Lord honors the brahmin preceptor with a bow and consoles Draupadi. It is significant that even before the priest He bows according to the rule: where dharma is concerned, even the Lord Himself observes due order. The comparison with Indra among the gods points not to equality but to Krishna's radiance amid His devotees, like the sun amid its rays. Thus scripture shows Him within the circle of the Pandavas; and the farewell procession now begins.
