Even while constantly performing all actions, one who has taken refuge in Me attains, by My grace, the eternal and imperishable state. Having offered all actions to Me in consciousness, making Me the supreme goal, relying on the yoga of the intellect, keep your mind ever fixed on Me. If your consciousness rests in Me, you will, by My grace, overcome all difficulties; but if out of egotism you will not listen, you shall perish. If, relying on egotism, you think, 'I will not fight,' this resolve is false — your own nature will compel you. O Kaunteya, bound by your own action, born of your own nature, you will do even unwillingly what through delusion you do not wish to do. The Lord of all beings, O Arjuna, dwells in the region of the heart, and by His maya causes all beings to revolve as though mounted on a machine. Go to Him alone for refuge with your whole being, O Bharata; by His grace you shall attain supreme peace and the eternal abode. Thus I have declared to you knowledge more secret than secrecy itself. Consider this fully, and then act as you desire.

Krishna joins together free will and the Lord's power in the heart. A person does not become an independent master of nature, but can consciously take refuge in Ishvara and turn inevitable action into a path of grace.
