译文
Freed from the pool [with] the crocodile-Drona, dangerous with shakti-serpents, with fearsome iron-arrow-makaras, whose water is the finest kshatriyas; freed from the weapon-cloud of Drona — from the roar of bowstring and armguard, with the lightning of maces and swords — like the sun and moon emerging from darkness.

Drona's formation is now a pool with a crocodile, now a thundercloud; and the two are now fish emerging from the waters, now "sūryendū timirāt iva", the sun and moon emerging from darkness. It is telling that the enemy's darkness is described as an eclipse, temporary and passing. The verse teaches that the light of the devoted is only ever temporarily hidden by the darkness of untruth: as the sun and moon emerge from the darkness of eclipse, so those shielded by God break free from every darkness; and darkness has no power to hold the light — it only veils it for a time, without extinguishing it.
