ततस् तान् सायकान् सर्वान् द्रोणमुक्तान् सहस्रशः ॥
चिच्छे रे वीरस् तद् द्भुतम् वावत्
छित्त्वा ताञ् रान् राजा क्रोसंक्तलोनः
क्तिं ग्रा रे गिरीणाम् पि दाणीम्
स्वर्णण्डां हाघोराम् ष्टण्टां याहाम्
मुत्क्षिप्य तां हृष्टो ना वद् ली
नादे र्वभूतानि त्रायन्न् भा

"Then all those arrows, loosed by Drona by the thousands, the hero cut down in battle — this became like a wonder. And having cut those arrows, the king, his eyes red with fury, seized in the battle a spear capable of rending even mountains. And having brandished it, exultant, the mighty one roared mightily, as though terrifying all beings with that roar, O Bharata."
