यन् मे स्निग्धो ऽनुरक्तश् च त्वम् अद्य वशगः स्थितः ॥
निमित्तानि च धन्यानि यथा भीम वदन्ति मे ॥
निहते सैन्धवे पापे पाण्डवेन महात्मना ॥
परिष्वजिष्ये राजानं धर्मात्मानं न संशयः ॥
एतावद् उक्त्वा भीमं तु विसृज्य च महामनाः ॥
संप्रैक्षत् तावकं सैन्यं व्याघ्रो मृगगणान् इव ॥
yan me snigdho 'nuraktaś ca tvam adya vaśagaḥ sthitaḥ ||
nimittāni ca dhanyāni yathā bhīma vadanti me ||
nihate saindhave pāpe pāṇḍavena mahātmanā ||
pariṣvajiṣye rājānaṃ dharmātmānaṃ na saṃśayaḥ ||
etāvad uktvā bhīmaṃ tu visṛjya ca mahāmanāḥ ||
saṃpraikṣat tāvakaṃ sainyaṃ vyāghro mṛgagaṇān iva ||
"In that you are devoted and attached to me, that you now stand obedient, and in that the omens are auspicious, as they tell me, Bhima -- when the wicked Sindhu king is slain by the great-souled Pandava, I shall embrace the king, righteous of soul; there is no doubt." Having said this much to Bhima and dismissed him, the great-souled [Satyaki] surveyed your army, like a tiger surveying herds of deer.

Satyaki reads good signs in Bhima's very love for him: "yat me snigdho 'nuraktaḥ" -- a friend's devotion is for him an auspicious omen. It is telling that the surest sign of success lies not in the sky but in the hearts of those who love. The verse teaches that the love and harmony of those dear to us is the best portent of success: where there is mutual devotion, the pledge of a good outcome is already laid down, and one who loves needs no other omens than the faithfulness of those beside him.
