अथास्य सूतस्य शिरो निकृत्य; भल्लेन वज्राशनिसंनिभेन ॥
सुदर्शनस्यापि शिनिप्रवीरः; क्षुरेण चिच्छेद शिरः प्रसह्य ॥
सकुण्डलं पूर्णशशिप्रकाशं; भ्राजिष्णु वक्त्रं निचकर्त देहात् ॥
यथा पुरा वज्रधरः प्रसह्य; बलस्य संख्ये ऽतिबलस्य राजन् ॥
athāsya sūtasya śiro nikṛtya; bhallena vajrāśanisaṃnibhena ||
sudarśanasyāpi śinipravīraḥ; kṣureṇa ciccheda śiraḥ prasahya ||
sakuṇḍalaṃ pūrṇaśaśiprakāśaṃ; bhrājiṣṇu vaktraṃ nicakarta dehāt ||
yathā purā vajradharaḥ prasahya; balasya saṃkhye 'tibalasya rājan ||
Then, having severed his charioteer's head with a broad-headed arrow resembling a thunderbolt, the hero of Shini also, by force, cut off Sudarshana's head with a razor-arrow. Adorned with earrings, resembling the full moon, he severed the radiant face from the body, as of old the thunderbolt-bearer [Indra] by force [severed the head] of Bala, the exceedingly mighty one, in battle, O king.

Satyaki is likened to Indra, who slew the demon Bala: overcoming the enemy is a reflection of the divine victory over evil. The radiant face, purnashashiprakasham, like the full moon, is severed -- beauty caught within horror. It is telling that even in death the face keeps its radiance. The verse teaches that greatness does not desert the fallen, yet even the most splendid beauty is fragile before the appointed blow; and every victory of the righteous over the unrighteous shares the same source as the gods' victory over the demons.
