भीमसेनो महाराज द्रष्टुकामो धनंजयम् ॥
अतीत्य समरे योधांस् तावकान् पाण्डुनन्दनः ॥
सो ऽपश्यद् अर्जुनं तत्र युध्यमानं नरर्षभम् ॥
सैन्धवस्य वधार्थं हि पराक्रान्तं पराक्रमी ॥
अर्जुनं तत्र दृष्ट्वाथ चुक्रोश महतो रवान् ॥
तं तु तस्य महानादं पार्थः शुश्राव नर्दतः ॥
ततः पार्थो महानादं मुञ्चन् वै माधवश् च ह ॥
अभ्ययातां महाराज नर्दन्तौ गोवृषाव् इव ॥
bhīmaseno mahārāja draṣṭukāmo dhanaṃjayam ||
atītya samare yodhāṃs tāvakān pāṇḍunandanaḥ ||
so 'paśyad arjunaṃ tatra yudhyamānaṃ nararṣabham ||
saindhavasya vadhārthaṃ hi parākrāntaṃ parākramī ||
arjunaṃ tatra dṛṣṭvātha cukrośa mahato ravān ||
taṃ tu tasya mahānādaṃ pārthaḥ śuśrāva nardataḥ ||
tataḥ pārtho mahānādaṃ muñcan vai mādhavaś ca ha ||
abhyayātāṃ mahārāja nardantau govṛṣāv iva ||
Bhimasena, O great king, wishing to see Dhananjaya, having passed through your warriors in battle, joy of Pandu, saw Arjuna there, fighting, the bull among men, valorous, striving to slay the king of Sindhu. Having seen Arjuna there, he raised mighty roars; and Partha heard that great roar of his, thundering.

The brothers' meeting is announced by a roar: Bhima, seeing Arjuna, cries out for joy, and Arjuna knows his brother by the very sound of his voice. It is telling that love recognizes the beloved from afar, by voice alone. The verse teaches that between loving hearts there is a recognition beyond words: even in the din of battle, a brother tells his brother by his cry, for love is attuned to the voice of the one held dear.
