ततः स हेमचित्रं तं स्यन्दनप्रवरं गदी ॥
गदया पोथयाम् आस साश्वसूतध्वजं रणे ॥
हत्वा चैनं स पुत्रस् ते हताश्वो हतसारथिः ॥
मद्रराजरथं तूर्णम् आरुरोह परंतपः ॥
पाञ्चालानां तु मुख्यौ तौ राजपुत्रौ महाबलौ ॥
रथम् अन्यं समारुह्य धनंजयम् अभीयतुः ॥

Then he, the mace-bearer, shattered [with] the mace that gold-adorned, excellent chariot, [together] with its horses, charioteer, and banner, in the battle. And having destroyed it, that son of yours, [with] horses slain [and] charioteer slain, swiftly mounted the chariot of the king of Madra, the scorcher of foes. But those two chiefs of the Panchalas, the mighty princes, having mounted another chariot, moved [toward] Dhananjaya.
