प्राहिणोत् सूपुत्रा भीसेनश् तुर्द
ते स्य चं भित्त्वा स्वर्णपुङ्खा हौसः
हेचित्रा हारा द्योन्तो दिशो
पिबन् सूपुत्रस्य शोणितं क्तभोनाः
क्रुद्धा नुष्येन्द्र भुगाः काचोदिताः
प्रर्पमाणा मेदिन्यां ते व्यरोन्त मार्गणाः
र्धप्रविष्टाः संब्धा बिलानी होगाः

But into that same opening, O king, Bhimasena hurled fourteen iron arrows fletched with vulture feathers at the charioteer's son. They, piercing his armor, gold-shafted, mighty, adorned with gold, O great king, illuminating the ten directions, drank the charioteer's son's blood, feeding upon blood as if enraged, O lord of men — like serpents driven on by Time. Crawling over the earth, those arrows shone, half-buried, fierce, like huge serpents into their burrows.
