अर्जुनो वासुदेवश् च त्वरमाणौ महाद्युती ॥
अवप्लुत्य रथाद् वीरौ भीमम् आद्रवतां ततः ॥
ततस् तद् द्रोणपुत्रस्य तेजो ऽस्त्रबलसंभवम् ॥
विगाह्य तौ सुबलिनौ माययाविशतां तदा ॥
न्यस्तशस्त्रौ ततस् तौ तु नादहद् अस्त्रजो ऽनलः ॥
वारुणास्त्रप्रयोगाच् च वीर्यवत्त्वाच् च कृष्णयोः ॥

译文

Arjuna and Vasudeva, hastening, greatly radiant, leaping down from the chariot, the two heroes rushed toward Bhima then. Then the heat of Drona's son, born from the power of the weapon — having plunged into it, the two mighty ones entered it then by miraculous power. Those two who had laid down their weapons were not burned by the fire born of the weapon — because of the use of the Varuna weapon, and because of the might of the two Krishnas [Krishna and Arjuna].

注释

Nara and Narayana -- Arjuna and Krishna -- enter the flame unharmed, for they have laid down their weapons and are clothed in the highest power. It is telling that fire does not burn the unarmed: non-resistance joined with divine power renders them invulnerable. The verse teaches that one who renounces enmity and is established in the Supreme passes through fire unharmed; and where pride is consumed, humility remains whole -- for the flame of wrath has no power over one who has renounced strife.
