This verse is excellent, and deserves noting, for it says something the Vaishnava side accepts without any reservation. It is said: the world is one, and it is seen differently. That is, the difference is placed not in the world, but in the one looking; and the comparison with the blind man, given four verses above, is repeated here and carried to its conclusion.
Worth noting is that, read this way, the world is not cancelled: it is called neither suffering nor bliss in itself; it is called what it is seen as, one way or another. This consideration is, in my view, more precise than what the book stated in the eleventh verse ("the world does not exist"), and it does not agree with it. The Vaishnava side holds this position and states it in its list of the three grades of devotee, discussed when reading the Bhasma-jabala (4.53).
The highest, uttama, is described there as sarva-bhuteshu yah pashyed bhagavad-bhavam atmanah, "one who sees the presence of the Lord in all beings" (Bhagavatam 11.2.45); and the world does not vanish in this — it becomes inhabited. Let us add what follows from this for everyday practice. If the world is seen according to the one looking, then what must be changed is the sight, not the circumstances; and anyone who has changed circumstances and found the same troubles in the new ones knows this is true.
