व्यक्तं शिवं तव भ्रातुः सामात्यस्य भविष्यति ॥
मा शुचः किं चिद् एवान्यत् तत्रानिष्टं भविष्यति ॥

mā śucaḥ kiṃ cid evānyat tatrāniṣṭaṃ bhaviṣyati ||

Krishna does not lie, nor does he reveal everything: "śivaṃ tava bhrātuḥ… mā śucaḥ" — he calms the chief fear, yet honestly adds "kiṃ cit anyat aniṣṭam", "something else, some ill". It is telling how mercy and truthfulness are joined here: the Lord softens the blow without erasing it, preparing his friend's heart to receive the news by degrees. The verse teaches that true consolation does not deceive: it removes needless fear without hiding the inevitable truth, leading toward it gently.
