हायः हायार्थी माम् नुध्यावान् ध्रुवम्
पीड्यमानः रैर् बालस् ता साध्व् भिधा माम्
ति विप्रपन् न्ये नृशंसैर् हुभिर् तः

sa naṃ bahubhir yattair yudhyano nararṣabhaiḥ ||
asayaḥ sarthī m anudhyātan dhruvam ||
ḍyanaḥ śarair bālas tāta dhv abhidhāva mām ||
iti vipralapan manye nṛśaṃsair bahubhir hataḥ ||

Translation

"He, surely, beset by many warriors together, alone, longing for aid, thought of me without doubt. 'Afflicted by arrows, child that I am — father, come, save me!' — thus crying out, I suppose, he was slain by a host of monsters."
