विक्रमश्रुतमाहात्म्यैः कथम् आयोधने हतः ॥
सुभद्रायाः प्रियं नित्यं द्रौपद्याः केशवस्य च ॥
यदि पुत्रं न पश्यामि यास्यामि यमसादनम् ॥

Translation
"Like the lion of the Vrishnis, to Keshava, the great of soul — in valor, learning, and majesty — how was he slain in battle? Ever dear to Subhadra, to Draupadi and to Keshava — if I do not see my son, I shall go to the abode of Yama."

Love for Abhimanyu is named through those to whom he is dear: Subhadra, Draupadi, Krishna — and Arjuna himself, for whom life without his son is unbearable: "yadi putraṃ na paśyāmi yāsyāmi yamasādanam." The threat to go to Yama's abode is no impulse of weakness, but the measure of a father's love. The comparison "sadṛśaḥ… keśavasya", "like Keshava", again draws the boy close to the Lord. It is telling that Arjuna's grief reaches to the very threshold of death; and it is precisely from here that Krishna's word will be needed. The verse teaches that the depth of love is best measured by what life is worth after the loss of the beloved.
