The Upaniṣads — the philosophical core of the Vedic tradition, revealing the nature of Brahman, the Ātman, knowledge, action and liberation. The ten principal Upaniṣads together with select minor Vaiṣṇava Upaniṣads.
It begins not with Brahman, but with the order of life: studenthood, household, forest, renunciation — and rules for one who walks with a water-pot. Its very title, "the little pot," is the wanderer's one possession, who has nothing else.
