Here reverence for the mother reveals itself even in the hour of triumph. It is significant that the brothers, [having won the bride,] first of all bow at their mother's feet and [bid] Krishna greet her: the new daughter-in-law is brought into the house with a bow to the elder. Honoring one's elders is the foundation of a good household. Thus the scripture shows the good conduct of the Pandavas; and from the very threshold Draupadi is trained to honor her mother-in-law.
