Here the names of the great seers sound like a roll call of the keepers of knowledge. It is significant that among them is Krishna-Dvaipayana Vyasa, the compiler of the Vedas and of this very tale, together with his son Shuka: the very light of Vedic wisdom gathers around the righteous king. So the scripture shows that the abode of dharma draws knowledge to itself; and the list of sages continues.
