ततः प्रायाच् छनैः सूतः सात्वतस्य मते स्थितः ॥
थेनादित्यर्णे भास्वरे ताकिना
तम् हुः साथेर् श्या ल्गमाना योत्तमाः
वायुवेमाः संख्ये कुन्देन्दुप्रभाः
न्तं थं तं तु ङ्खर्णैर् योत्तमैः
रिव्रुस् तः शूरा जानीके र्वतः
किन्तो विविधांस् तीक्ष्णान् साकांल् घुवेधिनः

rathedityavarṇena bhāsvareṇa paki ||
tam ūhuḥ rather vaśyā valga hayottamāḥ ||
yuvegasamāḥ saṃkhye kundendurajataprabhāḥ ||
āpatantaṃ rathaṃ taṃ tu śaṅkhavarṇair hayottamaiḥ ||
parivavrus tataḥ śū gakena sarvataḥ ||
kiranto vividhāṃs tīkṣṇān sāyakāṃl laghuvedhinaḥ ||

शङ्खवर्णैः हयोत्तमैःśaṅkhavarṇaiḥ hayottamaiḥ[with] the finest conch-colored horses; with excellent horses the color of a conch
परिवव्रुः ततः शूराःparivavruḥ tataḥ śūrāḥthe heroes then surrounded [it]; the heroes then encircled [it]
गजानीकेन सर्वतःgajānīkena sarvataḥwith the elephant-array from every side; with the elephant-array on all sides
Traducción

Then the charioteer drove slowly, abiding by the will of the Satvata, [on] the sun-colored chariot, shining, [with] a banner. Obedient to the charioteer, the best horses bore him, prancing [in vigor], equal to the wind's speed in battle, [with] the sheen of jasmine, moon, and silver. But that onrushing chariot, [with] the finest conch-colored horses, the heroes then surrounded with the elephant-array from every side.
