र्षभं र्म हच् न्द्रम् लंकृतम्
विध्य तं ड्गं सात्वतायोत्सर्ज
शैनेस्य नुश् छित्त्वा ड्गो न्यतन् हीम्
लाक्रवच् चै व्यरो हीं तः
थान्यद् नुर् दा र्वकायादाणम्
शास्कन्धप्रतीकाशम् न्द्रानिस्वनम्
विस्फार्य विव्यधे क्रुद्धो संधं रे

pragṛhya tu tataḥ khaḍgaṃ jalasaṃdho mabalaḥ ||
ārṣabhaṃ carma ca mahac chatacandram alaṃkṛtam ||
tata āvidhya taṃ khaḍgaṃ tvayotsasarja ha ||
śaineyasya dhanuś chittvā sa khaḍgo nyapatan mahīm ||
atacakravac caiva vyarocata mahīṃ gataḥ ||
athānyad dhanur āya sarvavaraṇam ||
śālaskandhapraśam indrāśanisamasvanam ||
visphārya vivyadhe kruddho jalasaṃdhaṃ śareṇa ha ||

व्यरोचत महीम् गतःvyarocata mahīm gataḥit shone, having reached the earth; it shone, having landed on the ground
अथ अन्यत् धनुः आदायatha anyat dhanuḥ ādāyathen, taking another bow; then, having taken a different bow
सर्वकायावदारणम्sarvakāyāvadāraṇamthat cleaves through every body; cleaving any body whatsoever
शालस्कन्धप्रतीकाशम्śālaskandhapratīkāśamresembling the trunk of a shala tree; like the trunk of a shala [tree]
इन्द्राशनिसमस्वनम्indrāśanisamasvanamwith a sound like Indra's thunderbolt; resounding like the thunderbolt of Indra

Then, seizing a sword, Jalasandha, of great might, and a great shield adorned with a hundred moons, cut through Shaineya's bow; but that sword fell to the ground and, like a wheel of fire, shone as it landed there. Then, taking up another bow — one that could cleave through any body, resembling the trunk of a shala tree, sounding like the thunderbolt of Indra...
