अथ गर्भः स भित्त्वोरुं ब्राह्मण्या निर्जगाम ह ॥
मुष्णन् दृष्टीः क्षत्रियाणां मध्याह्न इव भास्करः ॥
ततश् चक्षुर्वियुक्तास् ते गिरिदुर्गेषु बभ्रमुः ॥

Here the hidden seed reveals itself as a crushing power. It is telling that the one born [Aurva], like the noonday sun, takes away the sight of those who destroyed his line: violence breeds its own retribution out of the very thing it destroys. Here it is seen that wrongdoing itself nurtures its own punishment: the blood of the innocent cries out and turns into a chastising fire. Thus the scripture shows how the slaughter of the Bhrigus bred blindness in the killers; and Parashara is given to see that vengeance breeds vengeance without end.
