Here Yudhishthira answers truthfully, yet without revealing himself. It is telling that he names only their brotherhood, their coming from Ekachakra, and their care for their mother -- no royal lineage, no names: the truth is spoken, but the secret is kept. In this is the prudent restraint of the persecuted: one may refrain from lying and still not betray what is hidden. It is also telling that the mother's care is mentioned: even on the road the brothers think first of her. So the scripture shows the caution of exiles joined with truthfulness; and Yudhishthira keeps his incognito without sinning against truth.
