देवनागरी
ते तत्र विविधान् दायान् विजयार्थं नरेश्वराः ॥
प्रदास्यन्ति धनं गाश् च भक्ष्यं भोज्यं च सर्वशः ॥
प्रतिगृह्य च तत् सर्वं दृष्ट्वा चैव स्वयंवरम् ॥
अनुभूयोत्सवं चैव गमिष्यामो यथेप्सितम् ॥

अनुवाद
"Those lords of men, to win the bride, will give out various gifts -- wealth, cattle, all manner of food and delicacies; having received all that, and having seen the svayamvara and enjoyed the festival, we shall go on as we please."

Here the simple-hearted reckoning of the wanderers shows itself. It is telling that the brahmins travel both for the spectacle and for the gifts generously given out by the king-suitors: poor pilgrims hope for both spiritual joy and worldly help. And need is no shame when it is honest: to receive a gift at a festival is permitted. So the scripture shows the worldly side of pilgrimage; and amid these simple hopes the Pandavas walk toward something that surpasses every gift -- toward Draupadi herself.
