नटा वैतालिकाश् चैव नर्तकाः सूतमागधाः ॥
नियोधकाश् च देशेभ्यः समेष्यन्ति महाबलाः ॥
एवं कौतूहलं कृत्वा दृष्ट्वा च प्रतिगृह्य च ॥
सहास्माभिर् महात्मानः पुनः प्रतिनिवर्त्स्यथ ॥

अनुवाद
"Actors, panegyrists, dancers, suta bards and magadha bards, and mighty wrestlers from many countries will gather; thus, having satisfied your curiosity, having watched and received gifts, you, great-souled ones, will return with us again."

Here the festival appears in the fullness of its crowds and merriment. It is telling that the brahmins invite their companions to enjoy the spectacle as well: piety does not shun the lawful joy of a festival. A holy celebration embraces both merriment and the gathering of the good: where the festival serves a good cause, its joy too is pure. So the scripture shows the many-colored fullness of the svayamvara; and amid songs, dances, and contests will come to pass the very thing for which it was all arranged -- the choosing of Draupadi.
